2005 NM SkillsUSA T-shirt & Pin Design Contest

NM SkillsUSA is seeking a design to use for the program, t-shirts and state trading pins utilized at the 2006 NM SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in March. The state trading pins will also receive nationwide recognition at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Championships at Kansas City, Missouri in June.

Submissions must meet all of the following requirements:

  • This competition is open to any student enrolled in a technical, skilled or service occupation education program, including health care. You must also be an active member of SkillsUSA at the time of submission.
  • The design should be submitted on a full 8½” x 11” sheet of plain white paper, along with a second page depicting the same 1” design, in order to see how it will appear on a trading pin. Your name, educational program, and school must be identified with no larger than 12-point font at the very bottom of both pages. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE DESIGN SUBMISSION WILL RESULT IN IMMIDEATE DISQUALIFICATION.
  • The deadline for submission is 2:00PM MST, October 16, 2004 MST at the check-in table of the 2005 NM SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference, Bonita Park Camp and Conference Center.
  • Although the submitted designs will be voted upon by participants of the 2005 NM SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference, you do NOT need to be present to win.
  • The design does NOT have to be in the shape of New Mexico, however you are strongly encouraged to use some aspect of the state heritage, culture or physical attributes for easy recognition by individuals from other states.
  • “SkillsUSA,” in its official format (do not use VICA or SkillsUSA-VICA) must appear somewhere on the face of the design, along with the date, “2006.”  You may also include NM or New Mexico, but be aware of space limitations.
  • The Board of Directors and/or Designee have the option to edit the design in the interest of printing considerations (colors, sizes, detail, placement, etc.). The primary concept of the design will not change!

1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners will be selected from approved, submitted designs at the 2005 NM SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference at the Bonita Park Camp and Conference Center on October 18, 2005.  Awards will be as follows:

3rd Place - $25

2nd Place - $35

1st Place - $50, plus two extra T-shirts, five additional trading pins,

and recognition in the official NM SkillsUSA program and on the website (when available).
